As reflected in her more than 20 years of experience in the beauty industry, Merna embodies the entrepreneurial spirit. For most of her life it seems she has been designing. With a background in clothing design her transition to hair design was seamless. She got her start as a stylist working for one of Regis Corporation’s flagship salon brands in New York City.
Merna opened her first salon in 1995 and a few years later launched Ebony Styles in the spring of 2001. Her vision for this new salon was to create a welcoming and intimate space where she would make her client’s look and feel beautiful. Since that time, Merna has built ESI into one of the most prestigious and highly respected salons in Manhattan, catering to her list of clients in entertainment, fashion and design, as well as from the news rooms and Wall Street.
With her trademark cutting and styling techniques she will make you look fabulous. She developed a proprietary hair coloring process that prevents hair damage and dryness and created colors that look vibrant and natural. Her background, routed in clothing design, gives her a keen eye for shape and style. She is an authority in the hair industry, leading trends in haircuts and new extension techniques. Today clients come from all over the world for a chance to sit in her chair.
